Demo content — Cloverwell Lawn & Landscape is a fictional company. This site is a demo of the KeoCodes Site Engine: the people, prices, reviews, addresses and photos stand in for a real company's, and nothing sent from here reaches anybody.

Most of our new customers start with the same question: what actually happens if I ask for an estimate? Here's the whole thing, start to finish.

Step 1: You send the form

Our free estimate form asks for your name, how to reach you, your neighborhood and ZIP code, roughly how big your yard is and what you'd like help with. It takes about three minutes.

You don't need your full street address yet. A ZIP code or neighborhood is enough for us to tell you which crew covers your area and what day they're nearby. We'll confirm the address when we book the visit.

If you have photos of the yard, reply to the confirmation email with three to five of them. They help us plan, but they're optional; we'll see it in person anyway.

Step 2: We reach out within one business day

Lena in our office will call, text or email — whichever you chose on the form — to book a 20-minute walk-through. We schedule walk-throughs in the same windows you see on the form: weekday mornings, middays, afternoons and Saturday mornings in season.

You're welcome to be there, and most people like to be. It's not required. If you'd rather not be home, we can walk the front and side yard on our own and call you afterward with questions. We won't go into a fenced back yard unless you've told us it's fine.

Step 3: The walk-through

Usually it's Rosa, our owner, or Dani, our lawn health specialist. Here's what we look at, and why:

  • Square footage of turf. We roll a measuring wheel around the lawn areas, not the whole lot. Mowing and treatments are priced on turf area, so the driveway, house and beds don't count.
  • Grass type. Tall fescue, bluegrass, a mix, or zoysia. It changes mowing height, seed choice and timing for everything else.
  • Thatch and soil. We pull a small plug or push a soil probe in a few spots. More than half an inch of thatch, or soil the probe can barely enter, points toward aeration.
  • Shade and slope. Shady areas may need a fine fescue mix or a bed instead of grass. Steep slopes take longer to mow and sometimes call for a different machine.
  • Drainage. Low spots that stay soggy, downspouts that dump onto the lawn, and bare strips where water runs off.
  • Weeds and pests. What's there and how much. We may peel back a patch of turf to check for grubs if the lawn shows the signs.
  • Beds and shrubs. Edging, mulch depth, overgrown shrubs and anything planted too close to the house.
  • Access. Gate width matters. Our standard mowers need about 36 inches to get through. If the gate is narrower, we bring a smaller machine and we price for it.
  • Irrigation. Where the heads are, so we can flag them before any aeration and avoid hitting them with the mower.

We'll tell you what we see as we go. If your lawn is in better shape than you think, we'll say so. If it doesn't need a service, we won't recommend it.

Step 4: Your written plan

Within one business day after the visit, you'll get a written plan by email. It includes:

  • What we recommend, in plain language, and why.
  • A price for each item, with any options laid out side by side. Our example plans give you a feel for ranges; your plan is priced for your actual yard.
  • Your crew and visit day, if you choose weekly service.
  • What's included and what's not, so there are no surprises on an invoice.

Then it's your call. There's no deposit to hold a spot, no contract to sign for weekly mowing, and no follow-up sales calls if you decide not to go ahead. If you say yes, you get a login to our customer portal, where every visit report, estimate and invoice lives.

What we never ask for

At no point in the estimate do we need:

  • Gate, garage or alarm codes, or where you keep a spare key.
  • Payment card or bank details. We never take card numbers by email, text or through our website or portal. Payment is by check or by calling the office.
  • Dates you'll be away from home.
  • Your date of birth or any ID number.

If anyone claiming to be from Cloverwell asks for one of these, it isn't us.

Common questions

Is it really free? Yes. The walk-through and written plan cost nothing, and you're under no obligation.

How accurate is the price? For mowing and lawn health plans, the price in your plan is the price you'll pay for the season, unless your yard changes. Bigger projects like patios get a firm quote after a second, longer visit.

Do you serve my street? We cover all of Larkhaven plus Ashby Crossing and Quarry Lake. If you're just outside that, ask anyway; if a route passes within a mile, we can usually fit you in.
